Welcome back to Realm & Empire for the launch of our Autumn Winter 2014 collection.
For those joining us for the first time, we’ll start at the beginning. Realm & Empire was born out of a desire to create something new in a market saturated by suspect ‘heritage’ claims. At the centre of the brand’s creative development is an exclusive collaboration with Imperial War Museums (IWM). We wanted to develop something British-inspired that had genuine historical links and working with IWM we found an amazing resource of archive material that could provide the creative inspiration for the brand, just asking to be translated into contemporary apparel.
This season, the Realm & Empire narrative has prospered significantly; marking another big step forward in terms of both the range of garments on offer and inspiration. For this collection, influence is pulled from the artists and social backdrop surrounding the First World War, which sees its centenary in 2014, including the contrasts in style and standing between officers and soldiers – a great story to tell.
As thought-provoking as always, this is a genuinely British inspired range which continues to honour unique craft and design skills developed over many years.
Enjoy the collection…
