At R-E, we value small-scale, sustainable production and this season we are proud to present a brand new outerwear collection, made exclusively in Blackburn by one of the UK’s longest serving clothing manufacturers. They started in 1860 and made specialist battle-dress for the British Army during both World Wars, so it's safe to say, they know what they're doing!
One of our favourite pieces from the new collection is our USMC marine workwear jacket and so today, we thought we'd share a behind-the-scenes glimpse in to our product process and give you a closer insight into the detailing that has went into this piece.
Reviewing original uniforms during one of our trips to the IWM garment archives. Not available to the general public, this is a unique perk, born out of our partnership with the Imperial War Museum.

The best of British! This collection was made by David and the team at Cookson & Clegg.
Our marine jacket is made in England from a robust, sanded, heavy cotton twill, which goes through a special garment-wash process for a soft, vintage feel.
As with every single piece in our collection, the jacket includes an individual ID number label on the back-neck, completely unique to you!
Featuring secure felled seams, dye-to-match buttons and a cross-back yoke stitch (an R-E signature inspired by an original First World War design).
The best bit? Keep a lookout for the marvellous three-button pocket detail – an authentic feature, which conceals two extra-large, additional chest pockets!
Wear with our USMC utility pant to form a casual suit. Available in two colourways.
Inspired by the archives, designed by Realm & Empire, manufactured in the Midlands and worn by you.
