And while that’s still a few weeks away, some of our favorite fitness brands are already dropping some notable deals on dumbbells, which are a home gym must-have. In fact, if used correctly, you may not need to have much else on hand. According to Brett Williams, NASM-CPT and fitness editor at Men’s Health, if you’re designing a workout or even a training program using just one piece of equipment, dumbbells might be the most versatile, effective option you could pick. The weights are ideal for upper body work like presses, pulls, curls, and more, they’re much easier to wield than long, heavy barbells, and good for homing in on single muscle groups. Practically speaking, they also take up very little space and are relatively cost-efficient, making them perfect for anyone who lives in a small space or who isn’t trying to shell out thousands for a full home gym setup.
