Life’s a pitch! This medium-weight, regular-fit raglan tee features our simple “Field Army” type motif, inspired by the US Army Air Force 78th Fighter Group. Nicknamed “The Duxford Eagles”, the group were based at RAF Duxford between April 1943 and October 1945, flying all three of the USAAF’s principal fighters. On D-Day every available Thunderbolt provided air cover to the Allied invasion fleet as it crossed the channel. When at base, their baseball team “Thunderbolts” kept up the morale by hosting games with their British Allies on a regular basis, on a pitch just behind the Officer’s Mess.
Based on WW2 US EIGHTH AIR FORCE.
